Christine Monteleon

 

Christine Monteleon has been an artist in residence since 2005.  She works in clay using both wheel throwing and hand building techniques.  Her work ranges from small utilitarian ware to large abstract sculptural forms.

She is a graduate student at the University of Notre Dame Biological Sciences Department working on her doctorate in Cellular Physiology and Dynamics.

The last couple of years Christine has taught a popular 8 week "Introduction to Clay" workshop here.

 

She created this body of work as part of, fellow Artist in Residence, Beau Belinki's class in Raku.

Christine tries to live by the words of a fellow potter, Beatrice Wood, who attributes her longevity to “chocolate and young men”.
