Our Artists – In Memory

Gloria A.Wicks*

Sculptor (1925-2014)

“As I experience my retirement years and have more time to devote to my love of creating art, it is gratifying for me to know that my bronzes will be around for many years to come, and hopefully capture the interest of others. These works express mixed interpretations. Some of my work is done strictly for fun. Other objects may refer to social observations or just the sheer beauty seen in line and form.”

Robert Kuntz*

Bob KuntzSculptor

Robert Kuntz studied at the Art Institute of Chicago, Contemporary Art Workshop, Chicago, and Indiana University at South Bend. Bob was a lifelong resident of South Bend who began his professional life as a modeler for design icon Raymond Lowey and for Studebaker. He was employed as a sculpture instructor at St. Mary’s College at Notre Dame and at Goshen College, and owned and managed Model Tech Display Studio in South Bend.

“When creating a piece of art, I work directly in the wood, steel or other material, usually without a drawing or even a preconceived idea of the finished sculpture.”
